Sol Petroleum (Barbados) SRL Appeals FTC Decision on Anti-Competitive Conduct

June 30, 2024
Sol Petroleum (Barbados) SRL appeals against the Fair Trading Commission's decision on alleged anti-competitive behavior related to contractual arrangements with Barbados National Oil Company Limited.
Sol Petroleum (Barbados) SRL says it has filed an appeal against the Fair Trading Commission’s (FTC) decision, stating that the fuel company engaged in anti-competitive conduct.
This is related to some of the company’s contractual arrangements with the Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL), which submitted a complaint to the FTC against Sol.
Sol said its appeal is being made on the basis that the FTC erred in both law and facts, in finding that Sol acted anticompetitively.
In a written decision dated June 14, the FTC said that BNOCL “alleged that without notice, Sol decommissioned one of two heavy fuel oil (HFO) storage tanks at its Holborn facility that were leased by BNOCL and has delayed in its replacement of the same”. (SC/PR)
