Rentokil Initial Barbados celebrates its 60th anniversary by donating over $4,500 in cash and vouchers to local charities, including food supplies, school supplies, and electronic devices. General Manager Paula Jackman reflects on the company's growth and community support.
To commemorate its 60th anniversary, Rentokil Initial Barbados donated over $4,500 in cash and vouchers towards food and school supplies to local charities.
The Eden Lodge Youth Charitable Trust received $1500 in food vouchers and $1500 towards school supplies while a total of 9 tablets and $1500 cash were donated to Team Mikey Charity.
The beneficiaries received the contributions as part of Rentokil’s ongoing commitment to give back to the community that has supported the company over the decades.
During the event, General Manager Paula Jackman reflected on the company’s journey from its humble beginnings in the garage of a rented home in Maxwell, Christ Church, to becoming the island’s leading provider of pest control and professional hygiene services.
“We are nothing without the community that surrounds us,” Jackman stated.
“Because they have placed their trust in us, we have been able to grow over the past 60 years to become the business we are today. It is only fitting that this event also be a tribute to our community.”
Jackman noted that the charities represent causes within the community that are in line with the company’s interests.
“The Eden Lodge Youth Charitable Trust and Team Mikey support children in need, and we are honoured to present them today with contributions towards their Back-to-School program, which will equip children with the supplies they need for their return to school next week,” she said.
Both organisations praised the donations as exceeding their expectations, with representatives expressing gratitude and anticipation for future collaborations.
In addition to the charitable donations, Rentokil Initial Barbados honoured long-standing customers and employees, including Monica Springer, who has been with the company since the 1970s.
