Mass Casualty Collision on Belle Road Involving Route Taxi and Pickup Van: Updates on Injuries and Emergency Response

A mass casualty collision involving a route taxi and a pickup van on Belle Road resulted in injuries to seventeen individuals. A mass casualty collision occurred around 8:40 a.m. on Monday along Belle Road at its junction with Barker Road, resulting in injuries to seventeen individuals.
The incident involved a route taxi and a pickup van. According to police reports, sixteen of the injured persons were occupants of the route taxi, including the driver, while the seventeenth was a passenger in the pickup.
Emergency response was swift, with a medical doctor and eight Emergency Ambulance Service personnel attending the scene.
Eight of the injured were transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), while seven others were taken to the Fast Track Unit at the Sir Winston Scott Polyclinic.
Two persons were treated on site and subsequently discharged. Medical personnel have described the injuries as non-life-threatening.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the route taxi was travelling from Bridgetown toward the Norman Niles Roundabout when the pickup van emerged from Barker Road, leading to the collision.
