Fatal Road Accident Claims Two Lives on Highway 7 in Barbados, Police Appeal for Caution | Hastings Main Road Incident Update

Tragic road accident on Highway 7, Hastings Main Road, St Michael results in two fatalities. Police urge caution on the roads and appeal for information. Contact Hastings/Worthing Police Station with details.
Two people perished in a road accident that occurred around 3:30 this morning along Highway 7, Hastings Main Road, St Michael in the area of the Soco Hotel.
According to police, the car, which was occupied by four persons, was headed towards Bridgetown when the driver struck a wall at Soco Hotel and then a utility pole.
A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor while a male passenger was transported to the Queen Elizabeth Hospita (QEH). He succumbed to his injuries.
The other two passengers were also taken to the QEH for medical attention.
Police are appealing to motorists travelling along Highway 7 to divert at Hart’s Gap.
Communications and Public Affairs Officer with the Barbados Police Service Inspector Rodney Inniss urged the public to exercise caution on the roads.
“Our condolences go out to the families. There are a lot of grieving families for the last three, four days and we continue to reach out to the public to just be careful. Help each other as we traverse the roads. Look out for each other, whether you are a driver, a passenger, a pedestrian, a cyclist, whoever, once you are using the road, you must be careful.”
