St Paul’s Primary School Announces Partial Relocation of Students for Hall Testing and Upcoming Classes
November 3, 2024
St Paul’s Primary School to relocate students temporarily due to concerns over school hall. Infants A, Infants B, and some Class 4 students to move to nearby center. Further testing ongoing.
There will be no classes at St Paul’s Primary School on Monday as the Ministry of Education puts plans in place for a partial relocation of students.
From Tuesday, the Infants A, Infants B and some Class 4 students will report to the nearby Seventh Day Adventist Conference Centre, while all others will return to the school for in-person classes.
“During this temporary relocation, further testing will be carried out on the school hall which has been the source of concern for teachers. Subsequent to the initial testing, which found no irregularities, it was decided that the hall will undergo further testing, in order to allay the fears of those who use the space for various activities,” said a media release.
“Consequently, the partial relocation will remain in place until the results and recommendations from the latest round of testing are completed.”
Last month, teachers complained of a foul odour from the bathrooms and marks on the wall. The Ministry of Education contracted a private health official to conduct an environmental health check and after a protest by teachers two weeks ago, promised a brief would be given on the results of those tests.
