A team from The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, will be conducting a National Survey on Literacy in Barbados, during October and November.
The purpose of the survey is to assess literacy skills, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking, and to gather opinions on attitudes towards literacy and how literacy impacts personal, workplace, and professional development among residents of Barbados.
The survey, which takes about 10 to 15 minutes, will be conducted across all parishes, and households will be randomly selected to participate. Participation is voluntary, and all information collected will remain confidential.
The input of the public will contribute to an important national effort, aimed at improving literacy education for all Barbadians.
The National Task Force on Literacy Education thanks persons in advance for their participation and contribution to this important initiative.
