Inter-House Sports: Blue House Triumphs over Purple House in Fierce Battle at Blackman and Gollop Primary

Soggy outfields resulting from brief showers on Friday failed to dampen the excitement at various community grounds across the island during the continuation of Inter-House sports.
In Christ Church, the sports event at Blackman and Gollop Primary witnessed Blue House successfully defending their title in a fiercely contested battle against Purple House that went down to the wire.
In a repeat of last year’s showdown at the school’s ground, Blue House (710) narrowly outscored Purple House (703) by seven points, showcasing the intense rivalry between the two houses.
Green House, mirroring the 2023 results, finished in the third position with 683 points, while Red House settled in fourth place with 588 points.
The Victrix ludorum title was shared by Kaliyah Downes of Blue House and Purple House’s Taliyah Grimes, both delivering outstanding performances.
Seven-year-old Downes dominated the Under-9 girls’ 80 metres, 100m, and 150m races.
Meanwhile, 12-year-old Grimes showed why she’s one of her institution’s best athletes, racing to victories in the 100m, 200m, and 400m events in the Under-13 girls’ division.
Shamari King of Red House claimed the victor ludorum title by winning the 100m and 200m events while finishing second in the 400m, where Daniko Harris emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, at the St James Primary’s school sports held at Trents Playing Field, Orange House won for the second consecutive year, amassing 500 points.
Green House (463 points) took second place, while Purple House (389 points) finished third.
Romana Taitt-Henry stood out as the victrix ludorum with victories in the 100m and 200m events, and a second-place finish behind Isabella Leacock of Green House in the 400m.
Among the boys, Tanaaz DeShong, Jamon Daniel, and Sheldon Thomas shared the victor ludorum title. (RT)
