"Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is focused on addressing learning obstacles among Barbadian children by prioritizing the identification of physical and psychological challenges. This includes expanding auditory testing for Class 4 students."
Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley is vowing that Government will be making major strides in identifying the physical and psychological challenges that may be impeding learning among Barbadian children.
This declaration followed yesterday’s announcement by the Rotary Club of Barbados West’s Ellen Steinbok Hearing Project that they will be expanding their annual auditory testing to Infants B children across the island, to now include Class 4 students.
Speaking at the launch at the Ministry of Education yesterday, Mottley underscored the importance of the initiative, noting that community engagement was also pivotal for success.
The Prime Minister said that Barbados was a pace setter in tackling the challenges with hearing and speech among children, stressing that diagnosis was the key. (CLM)
