Sizzla delivers a stellar reggae performance at Showdown event, captivating the crowd with hits like Thank You Mama and Just One of Those Days. Other artists also impress attendees.
Sizzla still continues to be one of the best reggae performers in the world.
And on Saturday night, the thousands of patrons who flocked to the National Botanical Gardens for the highly anticipated Showdown, were treated to a stellar performance by the 48-year-old Jamaican.
From the time Sizzla, whose real name is Miguel Orlando Cummins, hit the stage at 1:15 a.m. as the final act, he had the crowd at his beck and call.
Sporting his customary turban, he thrilled those in attendance during his hour-long set that concluded at 2:20 a.m.
With a crystal clear voice, Sizzla rolled back the years with hits like Thank You Mama, Guide Over Us, Just One of Those Days, Holding Firm and Show Us the Way.
The popular Byron Messia was also well received by the large crowd.
With hits like Levelz, 90’z, Vent and Mocha, Messia had them singing along word for word during his 30-minute set.
Chronic Law, Jah Vinci and Kranium, also engaged the crowd and had them swaying to their rhythms.
Local act Brutal Crankstar was the first performer on stage and was his usual energetic self.
Hosts for the night, Chasey The Entertainer and Jamar The Starr, also did a good job throughout the show.
