Caribbean Music Festival in Barbados sees successful debut at Farley Hill National Park, drawing thousands with all-star performances after seizing opportunity left by Barbados Reggae Festival's absence.
After a major festival exited the events calendar, producers of the Caribbean Music Festival took the opportunity to invest in Barbados’ cultural development.
On Sunday that investment paid off when thousands of Barbadians and visitors rushed to Farley Hill National Park, St Peter to witness performances by an all-star cast at the inaugural event.
Although managing director at Zulu International Inc., Jason Daniel described the response to their offering as “overwhelming”, he said they were grateful for the support from locals and international patrons who flew in for the event.
“When we heard that the Barbados Reggae Festival wasn’t taking place, we said we got to take up this opportunity.
