Capital Media HD Winner Melissa Welch to jet off to England for Capital Goes To London Competition

Melissa Welch and her aunt will be jetting off to England as part of the Capital Goes To London competition from Capital Media HD.

Welch, who won from a purchase from Chicken Barn, one of the contest’s sponsors, was ecstatic with her win. “I did not know that eating would have gotten me something. Means I got to drink a drink next time,” she said at a brief presentation held at the Park Cafe in Worthing on Tuesday.

Congratulating Welch on her win, David Bayley, Capital’s head of promotions, said the idea behind the competition took a while to come to fruition due to COVID.

“This story started back in 2019,” he said. “I did a promotion with Capital Media -Shawn Mendes to Miami – and I was planning for the next year, 2020. So I was looking for a pop concert, something different, and I came up with London. So I started contacting travel agencies, contacting airlines and was ready to go in 2020 but obviously, we all know COVID came and that was the end of the idea until now.

“We launched it last year in September, and here we are. We now have our winner, and in three weeks I believe, we will be travelling to London.”
