It was an afternoon of entertainment for those who ventured to enjoy the final Bridgetown Market Pop-Up for the 2023 Crop-Over season on Saturday.
The attendance numbers were noticeably increased compared to the numbers who attended last year’s final Pop Up at the same location.
The event’s focus was on the 100% small businesses that plied their trade at Golden Square Freedom Park in the City.
Close to 20 different areas were set up with artisans offering craft, handpainted/dyed cotton garments & textiles, fashion & accessories, cosmetic bags, tote bags, bucket hats, hair bonnets, key rings, ashtrays, coasters, straw handbags, handwoven tablemats, hand-moulded figerines, skin care products & massages, natural hair products and handmade jewellery.
Visit our multi-NIFCA award winning visual artist Markley Clarke was on site producing En Plein Air. His area was a huge hit with the young ones who ended up doing paintings of their own.
Culinary flair was not to be left out as a number of local vendors were on hand to wet the appetites of those who came.
The vibe by the various entertainers was still electric to those who there. Patrons enjoyed the performances of the Israel Lovell Foundation, the sweet sound of steel pan by Mark Forde and a percussion selection by Trumpet Boy and Iz A Vibe as they took in the displays of authentic local art and craft at the various booths.
Later in the evening, everyone was treated to a hyped session provided by Pic O De Crop winner Ian Webster, and other popular artistes, including Faith, Rhea, Nathalee, Quon de Artist, Grateful Co and Edwin. (JB)
