Barbados Meteorological Services Ends Flash Flood Watch for North, West, and Northwestern Districts

February 23, 2024
The Barbados Meteorological Services announces discontinuation of flash flood watch in specific districts due to diminished impact of the trough system affecting the island. Effective immediately.
The Barbados Meteorological Services (BMS) has discontinued the flash flood watch previously imposed on northwestern, western and northern districts.
“Over the past few hours, a trough system affecting the island generated rainfall accumulations between 0.5 and 1.5 inches in moderate to heavy showers across a few northwestern, western and northern districts. Radar and satellite imagery indicate that the trough system has moved northwest and is no longer affecting the island; as such, the flash flood watch has been discontinued . . . effective immediately,” the BMS said.
