Resumed Elective Surgeries at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) After Temporary Suspension

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has resumed elective surgeries after a temporary suspension due to high influx of trauma cases. Operating Theatres (OTs) are accommodating emergency surgeries.
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) has resumed elective surgeries following a 24-hour suspension on Tuesday.
In an update, QEH officials said that the healthcare institution’s Operating Theatres (OTs) recommenced elective surgical admissions at 8 a.m.
Authorities explained the decision had to be taken after the Recovery Room reached close to capacity levels at the weekend when the hospital registered an influx of trauma-related cases.
“This resulted in the QEH management taking proactive steps to accommodate other potential emergency surgeries presented to the OTs,” Communications Specialist Shane Sealy explained.
