Ministry of Health Announces Mosquito Fogging Schedule for St. Peter and St. James - November 11-15

The Ministry of Health and Wellness' Vector Control Unit will conduct a targeted fogging exercise in St. Peter and St. James next week, focusing on specific communities each day to control mosquito breeding sites.

The Unit will target communities in St. Peter, for the first two days of the week.
On Monday, November 11, the team will fog Air View Road No.1, Air View Road No. 2, Collins, Boscobelle, Date Tree Hill Drive, Hurley’s Close, Johnson Road, Hurley’s Road, Carrington Road, Mount No. 1, Mount No. 2, and surrounding areas.
The next day, Tuesday, November 12, Indian Ground Road, Orunmila Drive, Four Hill, Lonesome Hill, and Hibiscus Drive will be sprayed.
Fogging for the remainder of the week will be concentrated in St. James.
The team will go into St. Silas Heights No. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, Waterhall Terrace No. 2, and Westmoreland, on Wednesday, November 13.
They will then visit Sion Hill Tenantry, Halls Road, Rock Dundo, Bakers Avenue, Bakers Rise, South Drive, Bakers Woods, Upper Carlton No. 1, Upper Carlton No. 2, and environs on Thursday, November 14.
The fogging exercise for the week will conclude on Friday, November 15, in Bakers, Sion Hill, Turtleback Ridge, Sion Hill Terrace No. 1, Sion Hill Terrace No. 2, and Waterhall Terrace No. 1.
Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors to allow the spray to enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog.
Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
