Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. Takes Action to Revitalize National Monument at Garrison Savannah

July 26, 2024
The National Monument at Garrison Savannah in Barbados is in disrepair, prompting action from Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. Broken railings, corroded plaques, and neglect mar the site.
The National Monument at the Garrison Savannah has become a national disgrace.
However, the Barbados Tourism Investment Inc. (BTII) is moving to rectify the situation.
While the large Barbados Flag flies high, the rest of the 50th Anniversary of Independence National Monument, which bears the names of Governors General, Prime Ministers and National Heroes, is now in a sad state.
There are broken railings, plaques so corroded the names on them could barely be made out, benches in a state of disrepair, garbage and overgrown grass.
