Veteran reggae and soca artist, Geoffrey "Biggie Irie" Cordle, is recovering after being discharged from the hospital. He assures fans he is on the mend and still able to sing.
Veteran reggae and sweet soca artiste Geoffrey Biggie Irie Cordle is out of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) where he was admitted earlier this week after a CAT scan revealed some bleeding on his brain.
And he has declared that he is on the mend.
On his Instagram page on Friday, the beloved entertainer wrote: “I’m home. Praise God.”
In another post on Saturday, he said he was “relaxing, recuperating, and following doctor’s orders, taking my medication to get back to 100 per cent”.
“I’m on my way back to normal, back to 100 per cent,” he added.
Biggie Irie thanked everyone for their prayers and well-wishers.
Dismissing any concerns about whether he would still be able to sing, he sang a few lines and declared: “Yeah, man, I can still sing!”
Meanwhile, the godfather of entertainment and founder of the popular annual Teen Talent Contest Richard Stoute, who was also hospitalised with an undisclosed medical condition, remained in the QEH up to Friday.
Barbados TODAY has also learnt that Rudy Boyce, another talented and outstanding local singer of the 1970s, has been hospitalised for some time now.
