July 2, 2024
Barbados under small craft and high surf advisory due to expected sea swells of 2.0m to 3.0m from tonight, peaking on July 3 during a tropical wave passage. Advisory in effect until July 4.
A small craft and high surf advisory is in effect for Barbados as choppy sea conditions are expected to generate above-normal sea swells of 2.0m to 3.0m from tonight, peaking tomorrow Wednesday, July 3 during the passage of a tropical wave.
The advisory was issued at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2 and will be terminated at 6 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 or sooner if conditions warrant.
The public should prepare for possible overtopping of waves onto property and roads in very close proximity to shorelines. Large open water swells could also be hazardous to some vessels and operating smaller vessels could be difficult at times due to large swells, the Met Office said. (PR)
