Grantley Adams International Airport Runway Closed Temporarily Due to Aircraft Landing Incident

Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) runway closed due to small aircraft landing gear issues. Aircraft landed safely, passengers unharmed. Incoming flights redirected, runway closed pending inspection by Civil Aviation Authority.
The Grantley Adams International Airport (GAIA) runway has been closed after a small aircraft had technical challenges landing.
GAIA’s Corporate Communications Specialist Sharlene Browne, confirmed that the landing gear of a small private aircraft appeared to not deploy, however, it landed safely at 10:40 a.m. and the two passengers and pilot are uninjured.
She said the aircraft was inbound from St. Lucia to Barbados and all incoming flights have been redirected.
The runway will remain closed until the Civil Aviation Authority conducts an inspection.
