Former Barbados Minister and Senator John Williams Passes Away at 74

Former Minister and Senator John Williams has passed away on his 74th birthday. Williams served as a Minister of State, Ambassador, and Chairman of various commissions and boards.
Former Minister and Senator John Williams has passed away, family members have confirmed.
Williams died on his 74th birthday today at 6 p.m.
Williams, a former Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office from April 2003 to March 2008 has served the country at several levels.
He was a former Ambassador to CARICOM from 2006 to 2008 and represented Barbados at the Association of Caribbean States.
He also served as Chairman of the Administrative General & Professional Service Commission, was a member of the Employment Rights Tribunal and sat on several boards including the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation, the National Initiative for Service Excellence and the Barbados Vocational Training Board.
