The United Progressive Party (UPP) has described the recent Cabinet resignations, reassignments, and dismissals as a turning point for Barbados’ leadership, calling for greater accountability and transparency from the government.

In a statement, the UPP commended former Minister Marsha Caddle for her decision to step down, citing her actions as a demonstration of principle and integrity. The party also voiced support for former Senator Dr. Crystal Haynes, whose appointment was revoked after publicly opposing the proposed sale of the Holetown Civic Centre. The UPP questioned whether her removal was an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

“These recent events confirm what many Barbadians have felt for some time—that this administration’s best days are behind it,” the statement read, adding that the government appears to be “grappling with its own contradictions.”
