Bim 10 Tournament Round Two: Warriors Defeat Guardians and Settlers Outshine Voyagers in Thrilling T20 Matches

Round two of the Bim 10 Tournament at Windward grounds featured Warriors vs. Guardians, with McSween's impressive bowling leading Warriors to a 5-wicket victory. Settlers also won a high-scoring match against Voyagers.
R ound two of the Bim 10 Tournament began on Saturday at the Windward grounds, Lucas Street in St Philip with a triple header on the cards.
The early morning contest saw Warriors winning the toss and bowling first against Guardians. Preston McSween got the ball rolling when he picked up two wickets within the first five balls of the day, removing Ryshon Williams and Armani Best for ducks.
Roshon Primus, batting at four, led a counter attack as he smashed six fours and one six in a top score of 39 while facing 25 balls. He was also dismissed by McSween, who finished with excellent figures of three for five in two overs. After their 10 overs, Guardians totalled 95 for four.
Warriors, in reply, lost the wicket of Zion Brathwaite, caught first ball off the bowling of Jair McCallister. Jonathan Carter then hit a four and six to score 13 in six balls before he was out to push the score to 25 for three.
A fourth wicket 54-run partnership between Marrodon Bend and Zidane Harewood saw the Warriors close in on their target. Harewood ended with 30 in 21 balls while Bend came in unbeaten on 16 as Warriors scored 96 for five to win by five wickets with five balls remaining.
McCallister ended with two for 10 in his spell.
Settlers win high scoring battle
In the second game of the day, Settlers and Voyagers took part in a run scoring affair as a total of 234 runs were scored.
Voyagers scored their highest total of the tournament, 130 for three in 10 overs. Opening batter Rashawn Worrell put on a hitting display as he made 58 in 20 balls with seven fours and four sixes. He shared an opening stand of 71 with Akeem Springer, who got 29 in 25 balls. Giovante Depeiza made a quick fire 24 in 10 balls to close the innings and post a fighting total.
Kadeem Alleyne picked up two wickets for 24 runs in his two overs.
Alleyne was also in full form with the bat as he and left handed teenage batter Zachary Carter got the Settlers off to a fast start. Alleyne made 19 in seven balls with three fours and one six, while Carter scored 46 in 22 balls with three fours and four sixes.
Kevin Wickham paced the innings with 38 not-out in 22 balls while Nicholas Kirton brought the defending champs home with a rapid game winning knock of 28 in only six balls as Settlers scored 134 for two to win by eight wickets with four balls remaining.
Pelicans edge Titans for victory
In the final game of the evening, Pelicans got over the line on the final ball of the day to claim the win against Titans by five wickets.
Titans won the toss and elected to bat first. They had five players reach double figures, but no one passed 20 runs as they got up to a total of 85 for six in their 10 overs.
Nathan Sealy top scored with 19 in six balls, three fours and one six. Chemar Holder was the leading bowler for Pelicans, picking up two wickets for 15 runs with both victims coming in the first over of the innings.
In reply, Pelicans needed all 10 overs to get over the line as they made 86 for five with Nimar Bolden delivering an unbeaten 25 in 16 balls with two sixes.
Mathew Jones and Raymon Reifer picked up two wickets a piece for the Titans.
