Nimar Bolden's outstanding 171 not out led Wildey to victory in the BCA Elite/Division 1 Super Cup Championship, with Pickwick falling short despite Antonio Morris' 63-run effort.
Nimar Bolden celebrated his 21st birthday in fine style as he scored a match winning 171 not out as Wildey captured the BCA Elite/Division 1 Super Cup Championship with a 114-run win over ESA Field Pickwick at Kensington Oval on Saturday.
Player of the Match Bolden, batting at number three, struck 11 fours and nine sixes as Wildey recovered from 136/7 in the 29th over to score 285/8 off 50 overs after winning the toss.
Pickwick were off to a flying start in the first four overs of play as Wildey lost three wickets for only 16 runs.
Bolden built important partnerships throughout the innings with the middle and lower order batters — 43 runs for the seventh wicket with Jerome Jones (26), 67 for the eighth wicket with Dewin Currency (16) and 82 for the ninth wicket with Tariq O’Neale (18).
In their turn at bat, Pickwick lost their first three wickets for a meager 26 runs.
Antonio Morris and Captain Rohan Ryan were able to rebuild the innings with a partnership of 83 before Ryan lost his wicket, bowled by Jerome Jones.
Pickwick’s batting then collapsed as they lost their final six wickets for 37 runs, Jones, bowling left-arm spin, grabbed 5/35 off 10 overs while fellow left-arm spinner, Deswin Currency, took 3/16 from eight overs.
Morris top-scored for Pickwick with 63 runs off 61 balls, including four fours and three sixes.
